[Research interest] Chaona Chen is a postdoctoral Research Associate currently under the ERC-funded program ‘Computing the Face Syntax of Social Communication.’ Her research interest including to understand how facial expressions are used in daily conversation using the method of social psychophysics. She is also interested in developing facial expressions for social robots and improving human-robot interactions.
[Eduction] Graduated from the University of Glasgow with a Ph.D. entitled ‘The Dual Role of Culture on Signalling and Receiving Dynamic Facial Expressions’ in 2017. Before that, she studied Psychology and Philosophy in Wuhan University in China and graduated with a B.Sc. in Psychology (First Class) in 2013.
