I am a social scientist at the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST). My research focuses on evaluating face recognition accuracy in humans and automated face recognition technology. As part of this work, we have tested face specialists including facial forensic examiners and super-recognizers.
I completed my PhD at The University of Texas at Dallas, where I focused on high level vision. I studied recognition ability based on the face alone, the body alone, and whole people, as well as the neural processing of unfamiliar and familiar people using fMRI.
